THE ROUTE "GÂRCINA – CUEJDI HERMITAGE - CUEJDEL LAKE" PREAMBLE: All routes "by car through the surroundings" promoted in our application start from the heart of the city (The Royal Court). Regardless of whether they are drawn circularly or linearly, they return to Piatra-Neamț, the details of distances and times being presented below. Some of the attractions are visitable, and others that are on the route can simply be admired either from a distance or with short detours from the main route. Everyone will be free to decide as they please. But it's good to know that all tourist attractions tell their own story, which is also the reason why we included in the itinerary places more or less known to the general public. DIRECTIONS AND ORIENTATION: This tourist route will first take you to the Gârcina village, located at the northern exit of the city, in the direction of Târgu-Neamț. At the intersection on the main road, you will turn left and continue forward until the Cuejdiu village. At the edge of the village, right on the edge of the forest, is the small Cuejdi Hermitage. By car you can continue on the road until you reach a barrier. Park your car here, take everything you want with you, including water and some snacks, and start hiking through the forest. Cuejdel Lake is the star of this route, a superb lake formed by a natural dam, similar to Red Lake. The trail is well marked and is, for the most part, an easy walk through the woods. There is only a small section that is more difficult to climb, but otherwise the path is smooth. When you reach the lake, we're sure you'll say it was all worth the effort. The beauty of the lake and the overall view is absolutely wonderful. DISTANCE AND TIME: 20 km (linear route) / 30 min actual drive (to the barrier). Then add about 4 km to walk, in about 1 hour and 30 minutes. On the way back, you will obviously cover exactly the same distances. FOOD & DRINK OFFER: It is limited, for this reason we recommend that you take water and snacks with you. But it's good to know that in the Gârcina and Cuejdi villages you can find shops for various supplies. And you can find these on Google Maps.

DIRECTIONS AND ORIENTATION: This tourist route will first take you to Roznov, where you will turn right in the city center, then right again as soon as you cross the bridge over the Bistrița River. In the Negulești village you will park the car and walk a short route through the forest to Veselaru, the smallest brother of the lakes formed by a natural dam (Cuejdel is the big brother, and Lacul Roșu the middle brother). In the page with the presentation of Lake Veselaru you will find more indications. You will then return to Roznov, and in Chintinici you will turn right and continue until Borlești. The next stop is Nechit Monastery, once a simple place of retreat for monks who wanted to perfect their union with Christ. Finally, you will arrive in Tazlău village, where a beautiful traditional home converted into a memorial house of an important figure from Neamț awaits you, a small museum of the village, but especially the Tazlău Monastery, an important monument, considered the most important among all those built by Stephen the Great in the county. From here you will make your way back to Roznov, and then to Piatra-Neamț. DISTANCE AND TIME: 70 km (linear route) / 1h and 30min actual drive, approximately 6-7h with visits and breaks. Without the necessary detours, on the way back you will travel only 30 km from the last point of the route to Piatra-Neamț. FOOD & DRINK OFFER: The locations along the route where you can eat and drink and that we can recommend are: the restaurants "Dor de Han" and "La Matiz" in Şovoaia, La Piti Pizzeria in Borlești or Popasul Vânătorului and Carul cu Bere in Tazlau. You can find them on Google Maps along with many other restaurants in the vicinity of the city. Instead, those in Piatra-Neamț are also listed in the EAT & DRINK section of the application.

DIRECTIONS AND ORIENTATION: This tourist route will first take you to the traditional small house "Dimineți în Cerdac", located at the exit from the city towards Târgu-Neamț. It's good to know that the beautiful location is on closed-circuit, but it's worth the stop for some good Instagram shots. You will then continue to Almaș, a monastery with a rich history in an idyllic natural setting. The Valley of the Twelve is the surprise of this itinerary, a small village where you will feel like you are in the Hobbit tales. From here you will head south, first towards the Girov village, then towards the small town of Roznov. The "St. Nicolae" church in the central park is really worth a visit thanks to its special architecture. You will then return to Piatra-Neamț, passing through Săvinești and having the petrochemical plant on your right, once the biggest employer of the city. If you haven't already done so, then you can end your route at the top of Pietricica hill. The view here "worths all the money"...the ones you don't have to pay for anyway, because it costs you absolutely nothing to get here. DIRECTIONS AND ORIENTATION: This tourist route will first take you to the Bistrita Monastery, one of the most important religious places in the entire Neamț county. You will then continue towards the Bisericani hill, where three attractions await you. You will return to the DN15 that connects Piatra-Neamț to Bicaz, but you will only go on it for 1km, because you will turn left towards the Vădurele village, and after that, Agârcia village. Here it is really worth stopping to admire and photograph the swans on Bâtca Doamnei lake. The short detour from the route to Petrodava Citadel is worth it in the first place for the view from above. The Tineretului beach can only be approached if you have not already visited it or if you want something to eat/drink. If not, then you can continue in a straight line along the Bistrita river valley to the Văleni Wooden Church. This is particularly valuable from a historical point of view. You will then return to the Căprioara Bridge, re-enter the city and end your route at the top of the Pietricica hill, one of the symbols of Piatra-Neamț. Few people know how easy it is to get here. As for the view, it is truly impressive and comes as the cherry on top of the cake of this driving route through the surroundings.
